October has been the busiest month of this whole year for me.
😍😍😍😍
We’ve celebrated birthdays, gone on adventures, concerts, it’s just been non stop go, go, go. I’m exhausted!
😱
My sister and fiancé share the same birthday.
As convenient as that sounds…being able to celebrate both of them on the same day doing the same thing…this year was first year I think they’d both agree that we actually did something they both enjoyed as a whole.
🍻
Our local brewery puts on a Paint Nite twice a month! (If you’ve followed me long enough on instagram you know I how much I enjoy Paint Nite)
🎨
Well, Last Name Brewery and Paint Nite happened to have an event ON THEIR BIRTHDAY! It was probably the coolest painting I’ve ever done there. But I think the experience was what made it the best painting.
I showed both my sister and fiancé what the painting was. Then I asked if they’d be interested in joining forces and having a joint celebration there instead of our traditional dinner all together. They were equally excited for this. I created an event on Facebook and had both of them invite all their friends.
👭👬👫
We ended up booking HALF OF THE PAINT NITE event!!! It was pure insanity. We had about 20 people (in a class of like 35/40) who came to celebrate their birthdays, drink beer and paint.
🎨🍻
Here’s a group photo of us with our masterpieces
It was so cool seeing how everyone paints the same painting, but everyone sees it differently. Even though we all have the same exact painting in our hands, not one of them look alike! Needless to say, this event was one for the books! Happy birthday you crazies!!
🎉🎉🎉
Even more fantastic, it was my cousins birthday 6 days later and one of my besties birthday 8 days later. My future sister in laws birthday was 3 days later. Another cousin was 29 days earlier and just whole ball of fun. Who doesn’t love birthdays?!? 🙂
🎂🍰🎂🍰
About two months prior I had started planning a surprise birthday trip to Vegas for my fiancé. He loves goin and seeing new DJ’s, gambling a little and I love the food. 😝 Let’s face it, I’m a die hard foodie fanatic. I ended up having to tell him about the trip instead of being a surprise cause I was worried he’d get recalled to work.
🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨
FireFighters
As a FireFighter (for those of you unfamiliar with the the schedules) if you get recalled it could mean a number of things. Someone got hurt and they need a fill in, a fire broke out and the whole crew is moving up so another group of its need to man the station, someone called out cause they’re sick, or couldn’t get their shift covered for an event they had, etc…There’s literally any number of reasons but that’s the general idea.
🚒
Last time we were at Lake Mead and Vegas…he got recalled and we tried to find someone to cover his shift but no one could cover the full shift. So he had to fly back to do 12 hours and then was able to get someone to cover the last half (LA county has 24 hour shifts) and fly back after. Which thankfully flying to California from Nevada and back isn’t terribly awful in price. Just a little inconvenient! 🙂
🤷🏼♀️
So to avoid that ^
💁🏼
He decided to take his Annual Vacation. Which means he cannot get recalled or forced to work.
I planned this super awesome trip to Las Vegas, where we stayed at two hotels we’ve never been to before. Every time we go to Vegas we try to stay at a new place. The first night we stayed at Ceasars Palace Hotel. Absolutely beautiful and GIGANTIC.
We went to Omnia and saw Calvin Harris one of our favorite DJ’s that we’ve never seen live. Unfortunately, I don’t know if it was an off night for him or what, he was not what all the hype was about. Don’t get me wrong, he is really good. But his interaction with the crowd (compared to other DJ’s we’ve seen) was lacking. I couldn’t personally stop thinking, “Where’s Taylor Swift??” “When will he play one of her songs?” 😝 He did play one of Elle Goulding’s songs, which is one of his exes…so I’m sure that’s next! I think it’d be a great remix 😉
Second hotel we stayed at was The Paris Hotel. ERMYGERD. Seriously beyond incredible. One of my friends was able to hook us up. We got one of the updated suites. I DIED. I didn’t ever want to leave. It had TWO bathrooms. Not one. It had TWO! One had a shower and one had a tub. Seriously the coolest thing ever!!!! I don’t know, there’s just something about getting a hotel room that has two bathrooms…it’s kind of magical. Lol.
I did manage to get in one surprise. He had sent me this photo of a cake on Instagram about a month or two before his birthday. Joking about how a cake like this would be cool, but also knowing they’re incredibly expensive…Little did he know I was totally paying attention. I contacted the bakery he sent me the photo from…THEY WERE IN LAS VEGAS. Even bigger score! They also happened to be a mother / daughter team. SO CUTE. I ordered the cake, but a smaller version since we didn’t need a 3 tier cake. He was so surprised and excited. I got it in his favorite flavor too! Funfetti with strawberry cream filling.
What a crazy day we had, after picking up the cake, we transferred hotels, changed real quick and headed over to the day club. Then we went to Encore Day Club to see DJ Chucky. One of our traditions when we drive into Vegas, we listen to his song “What Happens in Vegas” as we drive through Vegas. So that was REALLY cool!!
Right after going to the day club, we hurried up and got ready. My brother HOOKED IT UP FOR REAL. Got our entire group tickets to go see The Weeknd. 8 tickets! That’s insane! I had no idea where he was going to sit us. We get inside and they are FLOOR SEATS. Like whaaaaaaat! Brother of the year award!
Can you say #SquadGoals !! After the concert we stopped by Jewel nightclub to check it out! By this time it is close to midnight or after midnight. I am an old soul. I love cuddling, movies, and being in bed by 10 if I can. So I’m a walking mermaid sparkle zombie ready to sleeep. But raging with the best of them!!! Cause you only have one 28th birthday bash in Vegas as epic as this one. We all slept until like NOON the next day.
Purse fail, I forgot to close it 😂
The next day was Sunday, which meant everyone goes home, except for us! We had one more day and night to try a different side of Vegas! I don’t know how many of you are familiar with Top Golf. I had never heard of it before.Turns out, I am AWFUL. I should stick to mini golf 😂 But it was such a blast!!! Their food, AMAZING. Highly suggest eating there too!! It was such a cool place. Four stories high with an insane course!!
To top off the weekend, we stopped by the boat to fix it up for my parents and snapped a photo of Trevor with his cake! With a smidgen of a view of Lake Mead back there.
Overall, it was such an incredible weekend. We had a blast with all our friends and the good memories we made!! What an adventure. Here’s to 28 babe! Love you ❤️😍😘
