Wine Tasting

Wine Tasting

wine tasting

Who has been Wine Tasting in Temecula? I went for the very first time! It was absolutely amazing and I got to celebrate Erin’s birthday! It was SO much fun.

I learned a lot, drank a lot, ate A LOT and had a great time with great people. There are over 50 wineries in Temecula, all very different in their own way. Different styles, tastes and environments.

The first winery we went to was MiramonteWinery, which is probably

my favorite winery of the day. I also became a wine club member! Man, it is fabulous. The winery is beautiful, inside the tasting room area is so cozy and filled with winewine tastingbarrels. Wine tasting there was really great, there are so many wines…I didn’t save all the names unfortunately…I’ll just have to go back and get them!

When you walk outside, the view is breathtaking! You just see rows and rows of grapevines. The Patio has cabanas, tables, chairs and the most delicious bistro. Ugh, don’t even get me started on the food. It is so good! I am kicking myself for not even getting photos of it!

The second place we went to was Oak Mountain Winewine tastingry, a cute place, not quite my style. Their wine tasting selection was pretty delicious, the view from their terrace was exquisite. The atmosphere there was generated towards an older maybe mid 40’s generation. Where Miramonte had more of a younger vibe but mixed with all generations.

The third and final winery we went to was Ponte Winery. It was BEAUTIFUL. OMG. Like imagine something Chip and Joanna Gaines created. Straight out of their show. It was so pretty. Their wine was delicious as well. If I had it my way I probably would have been a member at every winery we went to. Maybe one day, but for now, I am starting with Miramonte. I think the next one will be Ponte Winery. The wine tasting I selected was of several white wines. They were dry and tangy with some fruity but not sweet accents! Then the red wine tasting I had just enough black pepper to make a slightly spicy after taste with just right amount of blackberry flavor.

I have such a love for wine. I love the way it tastes, the way that no wine tastes the same. Even though there are like millions of wineries in the world….not a single one tastes like another. How incredible is that?

Now, if breweries had some kind of membership that would be amazing. I’m not sure if they do, I’ve been to more breweries than wineries and I have not once heard of a membership. Why does this not exist?! I mean I go to the local breweries enough there should totally be one. 😉 Pay a monthly fee and get a certain amount of glasses or growler fill. I don’t know! Maybe theres a reason it doesn’t exist. LOL.

On another note! I LOVE Paint Nite as you already know, my favorite local brewery has Paint Nite monthly, even twice a month! Groupon had a deal for Paint Nite. There’s a link to the groupon offer below. Working on figuring out a date I’ll be going! If you’ve been or LOVE Paint Nite’s send me your latest Paint Nite painting! 😀 send them to me here at the contact page

Our Venues, the Holiday, and Friends Weddings!

What Do You Do For Memorial Day?

What do you love to do for Memorial Day? Do you have special Memorial Day Weekend adventures or traditions? Or celebrate the loved ones who served? This holiday weekend we started with searching wedding venues!

I think we get lost in the fact that theres a fabulous 4 day weekend, no work, no school, no worries, just hang out and party. Not just with Memorial Day Weekend but with some of the other holidays as well. I think it is magnified by the fact that most of us now have not lived through an era where a WW happened. Nowadays kids learn about 9/11 as HISTORY. When realistically the majority of us still feel it as being present.

So, my hope this holiday, amidst your 4 day relaxation or even while at work, if you are working. Stop and take a moment to remember those who have fallen and their families.

My Memorial Day Plans

This  4 day weekend started off pretty busy and will end more relaxing. ( For me at least ) We had our monthly Wine & Whiskey night at my house Friday the 26th! It was a blast, we all got to meet new friends and hang out with our old friends. Then Saturday Trevor and I looked at venues for our wedding. EEEK! Exciting!

P.S. If you ever want to join one, host one, or you are in the Rancho Cucamonga area, drop a comment below or email me sirensandchampagne@gmail.com to find out more details!

Memorial DayMemorial Day

Saturday…was enchanting. I’ve been in a lot of my friends weddings. I have loved just about every minute of being part of their special days. I’ve had the privilege of seeing my best friends try on their wedding dresses, see them choose their venues, help them pick floral designs, wedding invitations, bridal showers and bachelorettes. It is such an honor being involved in their perfect day. So being able to go through it for myself, is crazy cool!

Hotel Maya

Looking at more venues for our wedding. It is pretty crazy. Theres so many options, so many beautiful places to get hitched!! Naturally, while shopping for venues and they have a sweetheart table set up….we play Bride and Groom!! It was surreal. Practicing our cheers and best smiles for our very own wedding reception. I just love it! Incredibly fun. This photo was taken at the Hotel Maya in Long Beach. We saw 3 places there that the ceremony and reception could be held. It is also very special because this is where Trevor setup his surprise proposal!!

Los Angeles Yacht Club

After visiting HMemorial Dayotel Maya, we went to the Los Angeles Yacht Club. Which was remarkably cool! Literally walking into history. They have an entire hallway with all the sailing captains that have been part of the club. Which started in 1901. How insane is that? There’s flags hanging across the ceiling in the bar area that represent every country the members have SAILED to.

From what I could tell there were no repeats with the flags. Think of it this way…theres 100+ years of history in this place and I could definitely see there being more than 100 flags hanging from the ceiling.  You get the most beautiful view of the entire harbor there, with rows and rows of sailboats.

Shade Hotel – Redondo Beach

Memorial DaySeriously a major contender here. LOVED how close to the water it was. We would get two floors. The top floor (3rd floor) roof for the ceremony which overlooks the entire Redondo Beach Harbor. Then the second floor for the reception. It is super modern and contemporary with a beachy flare. The only downside was the possibility of us exceeding the maximum capacity.

Redondo Beach Hotel

Beautiful hotel! Super affordable and great for a really nice intimate wedding or party you would throw. Unfortunately it doesn’t have quite the beach and ocean view we are looking for but still a great city line. The ceremony would be held on the roof and cocktail hour in the connecting room. It is also a little small, not sure we would fit the minimum amount of people who would come. Really great potential though.

Maison Restaurant – Redondo Beach Pier

Currently under construction…..but oh man. The potential there is HUGE. You literally cannot get any closer to the water unless you had a scuba diving ceremony. The restaurant is on the pier, over the water. The ceremony would literally be on the roof overlooking the ocean with the waves crashing in the background. *Sigh* sounds relaxing. It is so unique in the fact that everyone would walk onto the pier to get to the ceremony. Which I absolutely love this idea. I haven’t heard of or been to any weddings on a pier. Cool right?

The Wedding Venue Conclusion

We haven’t 100% decided yet. We definitely have two we really really love. If you think you can guess the two leave a comment below!!

Memorial DayBIRTHDAY SHOUT OUT!

Big birthday wishes and happiness sent to my future father-in-law! Saturday was his big day! We got to FaceTime him a little bit while in the car in between venues. They celebrated his birthday in their home state Connecticut with a hike and some delicious looking ice cream!! We celebratMemorial Dayed his birthday watching the movie SING! after all our wedding venue shenanigans. Great recommendation, I highly suggest watching it if you haven’t seen it yet!

#BrandAndAlSayIDo

So many things have been going on since my last post. For one, my best friend’s wedding was May 19th. It was so beautiful. Just think Blair Waldorf in California with blush colored peonies and glamorous sparkly headband. The aisle she walked down had rose petals on the runner with beautiful floral arrangements all down the aisle. Once she got to the end of the aisle there was an archway with incredible flowers and dripping with jewels. Mixed with Southern Bell style food, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, salad, pork loin, corn bread and broccolini.  YUM!

I’m completely obsessed with the hedges…I will be stealing this idea Alex!! 😀

Cinco De Mayo

HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO!

By this time last year, I was headed out to the Midland / Odessa, Texas!

I flew out of John Wayne Airport ON Cinco De Mayo going to my layover in Denver…they have the cutest little wine bar right there across from my gate. Can you guess where I spent my 45 min waiting for my seat to be called? Yeah, perfect way to start the flight. 🙂

I am a super friendly person, I like meeting new people and creating a connection. Seems like basically everyone in your area is going on the same flight….I start introducing myself. You end up meeting people from all walks of life, in different stages of life, different adventures and maybe you end up spreading some joy too!

I met a traveling biker in line, part of a Christian outreach program going to Paris to spread the gospel. A young woman going to Chicago with the cutest workout clothes on, she was super nice. ( I ended up seeing her again on my returning flight! Totally random right?? ) I sat next to the nicest older man on my flight from the Denver to Midland. He told me all about the oil field, it is so complicated!! Not to mention extremely competitive.

He was coming back home after spending a week or so in Denver after checking on his ranch and doing some maintenance. We spent the entire hour and a half flight talking! It was really nice, having a genuine conversation with a stranger and not one bit of it was forced. When they said our flight was landing we couldn’t even believe it! It went by so fast because we had such a great talk. About life, love, his children, adventures, everything!

As a Californian, if you’ve lived here long enough you’ve experienced an earthquake. Talking to my plane buddy, he had never experienced an earthquake. The best way you can describe it…it’s like turbulence on a plane but depending on the size it can be more dramatic or less dramatic than plane turbulence.

For those of you who haven’t been to the Denver airport… as soon as you step off of the plane this is what you see. ” TORNARDO SHELTER HERE”. Needless to say, I was incredibly shocked when I stepped off the plane. One of the first things you see ( other than the fact you are in the middle of nowhere ) big signs for Tornado shelters!

OK STOP. TORNADOS?! Like Dorothy’s house getting swirled up into the sky and landing in OZ, those TORNADOS?! Not gonna lie, it was terrifying!! From what I’ve heard. People who have been through tornado watches and sirens, think that earthquakes would be more terrifying. Honestly they’re both crazy. But being able to physically see this crazy swirling monstrosity tearing up the ground FROM THE SKY?! Low key, I’d probably freak out.

So I quickly found  a place to rest before my flight, grabbed a beer and it calmed the crazy tornado shelter nerves. LOL! ( there wasn’t even any signs of a possible tornado by the way, it was clear, sunny, no wind, entirely perfect day, I was just being a little dramatic )

Once I arrived and Karen picked me up we immediately went straight to celebrate Cinco De Mayo in the beer garden! Cutest little place ever. Obviously when they have boots for mugs, you must get two. There was the cutest cafe lighting in here, we got our boot mugs and some great photos.

From there we met up with a few of her friends and learned how to do some real Texas two-steppin’! We went to the most random hotel with a bar and tiniest dance floor…Get this, inside the hotel they had a MINI GOLF COURSE!!!!

How incredible is that?!?!? It was like an outdoor feel in an indoor area. This entire hotel opened up in the middle to mini course but by this time it was of course closed. For this reason, we walked all around the mini course just because we could!

Austin

The next morning we set out on our road trip to Austin!!!

There were so many changes in the earth the scenery went from nothing. Dirt, dirt and more dirt. To farmland, tiny little towns, with wildflower fields, random antique shops and horses! Finally we get to Austin, we are ready to check in to our hotel change, stretch and get some food!

Austin is one of my favorite cities I’ve visited so far. It is up near the top of the list with New York City. Austin is a plethora of hipsters with all their micro brews, it has the largest food truck community, and amazing little niche places!

Then got all settled in at the hotel then decided to stop and grab dinner at Eureka burger! Which is always yummy and one of the closest places in walking distance we could go to. We walked all up and down 6th street, (totally not the same during the day).

Keep Austin Weird

We decided to head back to the hotel and changed to get ready for the night. Visiting downtown Austin’s super famous 6th street is incredible, there is so much to see at night. It gets super packed, the street is totally filled with everyone just having a good time and live bands playing everywhere. First and foremost rooftop bar filled with live music blaring all around is definitely something you need to experience at least once in Austin.

Austin has a huge homeless population as well. Literally on 6th street, if you go a black to far in either direction it will land you in a sketchy area.

Spending all night meeting a bunch of new friends from all over we decided to head back to our hotel. Right down the street from the hotel theres a hostel called the Firehouse Hostel. A random guy on the street told us about this ‘Hidden Bar’. Hesitant, we did not think it was a good idea going in alone. Two girls by ourselves into a hostel ‘hidden’ bar. I had just watched a tv show about human trafficking, that seemed like something that would go on there.

There is massive amounts of tourism in cities like Austin. Girls. Alone. Furthermore walking around in big cities looking like they’d be naive or too trusting, I can totally see how they’d lure them in with that. We were not about to put ourselves in that kind of situation!  Neat idea though! We probably would have checked it out if we had our guys with us, would’ve been more safe! I am wondering if anyone knew about this ‘hidden bar’ in the Austin Firehouse Hostel? I would LOVE to hear about it if there is!

The next morning we met up with some friends right outside of the Austin big city area…we went to the river and floated on the boat all day! Seriously the coolest experience ever. We found a turtle and named him Fred. Coolest little guy. Kept swimming up to us and interacting in his turtle-y way!!

To commemorate our trip we tried to re-do our Cinco De Mayo day! I have a photo from Texas (on the left) and a photo here! I tried to get a matching can but I couldn’t find the Miller California can.It also happened to be the only super windy day….we just had the pool cleaned and all pretty before this photo was taken.

Cheers to many more adventures, whether near or far, together or apart.

Paint Nite

I’m an auntie!!!!

Before you freak out, it’s a happy little fur baby! The most beautiful white pit bull eveeeerrrr. My sister and her boyfriend adopted this lovely girl, her name is jersey. She’s totally cute!

Look at her!! She is such a happy camper right here!

Besides this cutie pie hijacking our heart this past week, we got more of our engagement photos back and OHHHH MAN. SO AMAZING 😱🤓

I got to catch up with a bestie, always nice having girl time.

Of course, who doesn’t love jacuzziiii time with a bestie?!

Fiancé and I had our first paint nite adventure. It was pretty magical. Paint Nites are hosted everywhere, but we found out our favorite local brewery hosts them every other Tuesday. (I think we found our new date night….lol) it was quite fun.

We had dinner with another couple before paint nite who live in lake arrowhead. Last time we saw them we had such a fun snow adventure! It was literally magical. For a California kid who never sees snow on her doorstep, going to Lake Arrowhead with snow everywhere and RIGHT ON YOUR DOORSTEP. Pretty freakin magical! It wasn’t warm by any means, but the sun was out and had started melting the snow.

It didn’t sound like rain, because rain falls hard on surfaces. This was most of a soft sound! Like the melted snow falling into a fluffy cloud.

Magical right?!

Anyway, we got to have dinner with them and it was AWESOME!

We went straight to Last Name Brewery for our Paint Nite. Seriously the best idea ever, bring a whole bunch of people together, incorporate alcohol and an art teacher! It’s second grade all over again for adults! I LOVE IT.

Everyone paints the same painting….but NO ONES ever looks the same. Ever. Everyone has a different perspective of it and its really neat.

Photo above to the right is what the example is.

Here are mine and Trevor’s

Above is my photo with Matt from Last Name!!! With my painting up on the shelf!

…..can I just say how cool it was to STAND on the bar? Check that off the bucket list!!
